History

Kenny Alfonso and Phillip DeVona first took the stage as The Goods in a small urban coffee house on the outskirts of Atlanta’s Little 5 Points in March of ’97. Friends, colleagues and a few strangers crammed the 50-seat theatre to catch a glimpse of the duo’s opening night performance.

In September of that same year, Alfonso & DeVona introduced their dysfunctional family of characters to a standing room only crowd at Atlanta’s historic 7 Stages Theatre. Countless shows at comedy festivals, historic theatres, and benefits soon followed.

In ’99, multi-talented actress Melissa Ponzio joined the company as a performer, co-producer, and partner with Alfonso & DeVona in the newly formed The Goods Inc. (TGI). The comedy continued undisturbed until one night in North Hollywood when a sudden twist of fate and a baseball hat changed everything. A fight broke out at a post show celebration over the last hat baring the seal of The Goods®, and instantaneously The Goods® Brand was born! ’We did it for the children’

Back to the funny, Alfonso & DeVona continue expanding their family of characters while making fun of man’s obsessions in a series of new video sketches and spoofs. These new ’webisodes’ can be seen on the newly launched thegoodscomedy.com, YouTube and as part of a Special Edition 2 disc DVD/CD available Winter 2008. TGI is currently in development of The Goods: Bodyguards to the Stars, the feature film based on signature characters Ricky Santangello and Vito Fucarino in their quest to become Bodyguards to the Stars!
